Terms of use
The agreement between you and Gerry, written to be read. Nothing here is hidden in a clause; if a term would surprise you, it is in plain sight.
What Gerry is
Gerry is a place to record what you observe about someone's health — or your own — and to turn those observations into something a clinician can read quickly. You talk about the day; Gerry writes it down, shows you what it heard, and saves what you confirm.
What Gerry is not
Gerry is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. It does not diagnose, does not predict what will happen, does not tell you how urgent something is, and does not calculate or recommend doses. It reports what you recorded and never says what it means.
Ask Gerry what an observation means and it will decline and offer to turn the question into one for your next appointment. That is not a limitation being worked around — it is the design, and it does not change.
Nothing in Gerry replaces a clinician. Decisions about care, medication and treatment belong to you and the people qualified to advise you. In an emergency, call your local emergency number rather than opening this app.
Your account
You are responsible for who can get into your account, because whoever can is holding somebody's health record. Use a device lock and do not share your sign-in.
You must be 18 or older to hold an account. A parent or guardian may keep a record about a child; that record belongs to the adult who created it.
Recording somebody else
If you keep a record about another person, you are saying you have the standing to do so — as their parent, guardian, health proxy, or with their agreement. Gerry cannot verify that and does not try. It is your judgment, and it matters: this is somebody's health information.
If you invite other caregivers, you decide which people each of them can see, and you can end that access at any time.
What you record is yours
Everything you put into Gerry stays yours. We claim no ownership of it, and it is not used to sell you anything or to build a profile of you. The privacy page says where it goes and what is never done with it.
You may export all of it at any time, and delete all of it at any time, from inside the app.
Using it decently
Do not use Gerry to:
- keep a record about somebody you have no business keeping one about;
- break into, overload, or interfere with the service or anybody else's account;
- resell it, or present its output as a clinical assessment produced by a professional.
What we can and cannot promise
Gerry is provided as it is. It depends on a network connection and on other companies to work, and it will sometimes be unavailable. We cannot promise it will never lose data, which is exactly why the export exists — if a record matters, keep a copy.
Speech becomes text imperfectly, and observations are pulled from that text imperfectly. That is why nothing enters your record until you have looked at it and confirmed it. Checking is part of using Gerry, not an optional extra.
To the extent the law allows, Gerry is not liable for decisions made using it. It is a notebook that organizes what you tell it, and it is not a party to anybody's care.
Ending it
You can delete your account whenever you like, from Settings, and everything you own goes with it. We may close an account that is being used to harm somebody or to attack the service.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that affects what happens to your record, you will be asked to read and accept them again inside the app — not told by a date quietly changing at the bottom of this page.
